Idaho parolee arrested in meth bust on N. Philbin Road
POCATELLO, Idaho - Bannock County, Idaho Sheriff's officers discovered a meth lab on Philbin Road Tuesday night at about 10:30 while checking on a report of an abandoned vehicle parked near the entrance to the city/county gravel pit, said Bannock County, Idaho Sheriff Lorin Nielsen.
Scott L. Lint was arrested for felony manufacturing with intent to traffic methamphetamine, a charge which carries a mandatory sentence of 10 years in prison. His arraignment is set for Friday.
After finding the 1979 Datsun, registered to Scott L. Lint, 39, Sgt. Dan Argyle noticed a single set of footprints leading to the residence of Carolyn Jacobs, located at 10637 N. Philbin Road.
Argyle asked Jacobs if Lint was there, and she said he wasn't allowed at her home. Argyle then noticed that the footprints continued to a shed. Jacob's son, who knows Lint, accompanied Argyle to the shed.
Inside, a light was on and the door was locked.
Upon identifying himself, Argyle could hear shuffling behind the door. When it finally opened, Argyle saw a man, who turned out to be Lint, standing next to a fully operational meth lab.
Lint was arrested on-scene and transported to the Bannock County, Idaho Jail.
Bannock County, Idaho Sheriff's officers relocked the door, and kept an officer there to watch the shed until morning when a search warrant was obtained and the hazardous materials team could respond to properly identify and dispose of the chemicals.
Idaho police believe Lint is on parole for similar charges and has been out of prison about 3 weeks, said Nielsen. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending. Drug Rehab by County
